In a rare feat for a legacy release, Justin Bieber’s 2013 R&B compilation Journals has officially debuted on the Billboard 200 for the first time. The project entered the chart at No. 111, fueled by a surge in streaming following Bieber’s viral Coachella performance and a newly released 2LP Platinum vinyl edition.
Originally released as a digital-only collection during his “Music Mondays” campaign, Journals was ineligible for the Billboard 200 at the time due to its unconventional rollout. With current chart rules now factoring in streaming activity and the arrival of a physical edition, the project has now qualified and reached the chart.
The debut reflects a wider “Bieberchella” impact, with seven of Bieber’s albums charting at the same time. As listeners return to the R&B-focused Journals alongside his current Top 10 album SWAG, the release’s delayed chart entry highlights how older projects can gain new momentum under evolving chart criteria.
