Toby Keith Receives Honorary Posthumous Degree From University Of Oklahoma

During the graduation ceremony at the University of Oklahoma on May 11, Toby Keith’s daughter received an honorary degree on behalf of her father. The beloved country singer died on February 5 at the age of 62, following a diagnosis of stomach cancer in the fall of 2021. Keith, a proud Oklahoman who was born in Clinton, Oklahoma, knew he was to receive the honor before his tragic death. A heartfelt, appreciative post on Toby’s Instagram page on May 12 shared this about the special occasion: “Toby learned he would be receiving an honorary degree from @uofoklahoma last fall, and yesterday, @krystalkeith accepted it on his behalf at the commencement ceremony.
